Reviews for Pizzeria Italia Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 262 reviewsPizzeria Italia Restaurant in Barrie is widely praised for its authentic Italian cuisine, fresh high-quality toppings, and family-run atmosphere. Customers frequently highlight the flavorful sauces and well-prepared pizzas, with particular appreciation for house-baked bread and garlic bread offerings. The service is noted as friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, some feedback points to concerns about the crust style, described by a few as less traditional due to a specific dough preparation method, which may differ from classic Italian expectations. Despite this, the restaurant maintains a strong reputation for delivering consistent taste and quality, especially among takeout patrons and those seeking genuine Italian flavors in a casual, family-friendly setting.
They ran out of house bread so they gave us delicious complimentary garlic bread, amazing service
Hugely disappointed! Looking for an Italian style pizza and got Delissio box pizza. Toppings were plenty, but crust seems to be pre-made processed shell. Not authentic and looks nothing like the pictures. UPDATE: I spoke to someone in charge and they explained the dough issue. Apparently, they dock their dough which doesn’t allow for the dough to bubble like you would see on traditional pizzas. They also offered to comp a second pizza as they felt bad that I wasn’t happy with the first. A few weeks have gone by and we decided to give them another try and when we placed the order we mentioned that we did not want the pizza dough docked. I must say the second pizza was a lot better, but what was better than the pizza was the customer service and their pride of ownership. I will definitely order food from them again.
Ordered a pizza here tonight. Take out only now. The pizza is every bit as amazing as years past. Great tasting sauce and the toppings are fresh and of high quality. Won't regret coming here and it is family owned and run.
Hands down the best Italian food I have had in a long time! Drove from Toronto to Barrie, and came across this delicious restaurant. We tried a few different dishes and each were amazing. We forgot to take photos but everything was well enjoyed. The hostess was super kind and lovely. Highly recommend!
Pizza was absolutely amazing. Ordered well done it was cooked perfectly. They bake there own bread so I ordered garlic bread aswell. Bang on
We hadn't had food from here in a while, as they don't have delivery ( yes I know skip, and door dash) Omgoodness it was soooo good We've been eating there for 40 years. Sad seeing their dining room closed. Anyways, great panzorottis, great lasagna, great bread and salad. No complaints See u again soon
I rang in the new year with Barrie’s oldest established pizzeria and it did not disappoint. I was impressed with how big a size the large pizza was and the toppings were loaded . Loved the sauce and the crust was just right. I will be back for more ! Highly recommended
The Penne Rose is absolutely delicious, paired with their fresh bread. Forget about it! The best meal hands down. They take comfort food to the next level, garlic bread is delicious too!
